RPPC S.A. announces that the BoD decided today, on Friday 25th of November, the award of the contract for the realization of the project “Ptolemaida V lignite unit - Study, procurement, transfer, installation and set into operation of a Lignite unit, with a capacity of 550-660 MWel, burning pulverized lignite and with the capability of providing up to 140 MWth for district heating” to the lowest bidder TERNA S.A. with a cost of € 1,394,634,137.82.
For the signing of the contract, the necessary funds will have to be secured so that an appropriate return on this investment is ensured.
The offer of Terna S.A.(with subcontractors the companies Hitachi Power Europe GmbH, Hitachi Ltd of Japan and Hamon Environmental GmbH) relates to a unit with an installed capacity of 660 MW.
The unit will have state of the art equipment and will replace old, polluting and inefficient units, substantially contributing to the Company’s environmental footprint.
