PPC S.A.: Major Sponsor of the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games

The ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games is a significant landmark in the contemporary history of Greece, as well as a great challenge and a milestone in its development. The PPC S.A., in response to this national issue, has decided to serve the noble institution of sponsorship by funding the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games, with the amount of Euro 30,000,000.

The task undertaken by the PPC S.A. includes the following:

a. Free supply of electricity to all the Olympic Competition and Non-Competition Venues (including the Olympic Village) during the Sport Events and of course during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

b. Free construction of part of the Distribution Networks and the relevant infrastructure works for the supply of electricity to the Olympic Village, as part of the contribution of the PPC S.A. as stipulated by the Interministerial Olympic Preparation Coordination Committee.

c. Free provision of technical personnel (200 - 250 technicians) by the PPC S.A. to cover all requirements throughout the duration of the Sport Events, Olympic and Paralympic Games.

d. Free leasing of compact Distribution Substations to be installed at Olympic Venues, and free dismantling by PPC S.A. crews after the expiration of the lease.

e. Free connection to the PPC Network of the Olympic Venues upon their completion, for the needs of both the Sport Events and the Olympic Games.

The PPC S.A. is ready to respond to the increased requirements for electrical power related to the Olympic Games. The additional investments in electricity projects render its participation crucial for the success of the Olympic Games.

For more than fifty years the Public Power Corporation S.A. has been supporting the country's development and has been contributing to a better quality of life for the people of Greece, so today it could not but be present in this global celebration of civilization, contributing with all its strength to the success of this national undertaking.
